My name is Laura Gomez. Currently, I am attending Rider University as a freshman. I just finished up high school at Bernards High School in Bernardsville, New Jersey. From the first day of high school, I was determined to do well and this became my number one goal. I am proud to say that I succeeded and graduated high school with a Grade-Point Average of 3.7 out of 4. Another important aspect of myself is my family. From my family I learned respect, responsibility and patience because since, I was the middle child I had to balance taking care of my sister with calmly dealing with my older brother’s shenanigans. There are a lot of great qualities that I poses that I learned just by living life, hopefully these qualities will lead to me getting a great job.
I was born in Asuncion, Paraguay, a third world country in South American. My family and I came to the United States when I was in 2001. It was very hard of us to leave our home country but with perseverance and determination, we were set to start a better future. In the United States, we lived in a little town named Bernardsville. This is the original place we came to and we have not moved since. In this town, I finished up Middle School and High School. I am very proud to have come to the United States. Ours lives would have been very different in Paraguay but now we at least have a chance to follow the “American dream”.
